SEEKING GOD’S FACE

When it comes to prayers and praying, there are no stereotypes. They come in different shapes, styles and flavours depending on specific cases or/ and situations under consideration.
Today, we’re examining what it is TO SEEK THE FACE OF THE LORD. The Word in 2 Chronicles 7:14 says,
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face …”
There are cases that aren’t clearly stated in the Word but demand from us specific actions. For example who to marry. God only tells us not to be “unequally yoked with unbelievers.” No other specifics like height, tribe, education, social status, etc of your intended spouse. There are probably going to be a thousand and one folks who qualify. Yet you’re permitted to choose only one. Seeking the face of God, therefore, becomes crucial when we’re confronted with divers alternatives where only one choice must be made!
Ezra proclaimed a fast to help him, the children of Israel and their substance to know which way to go during their journeys- (Ezra 8:21)
Job sought the face of God, likewise.
Job 23:
3 – Oh that I knew where I might find him! that I might come even to his seat!
8 – Behold, I go forward, but he is not there; and backward, but I cannot perceive him
Securing God’s face requires a lot of time and patience! It’s our only assurance that we’ll not be lost or stranded in the journey of life!
Prayer:
Father, it’s your presence that guarantees our preservation, protection, and provision. Help me, Spirit of the living God, to be sensitive at all times to your promptings, in Jesus name!
