Pathway of Humility
Be humble. Choose the pathway of humility. My charge today is taken from 1Kings 21:29, “Seest thou how Ahab humbleth himself before me? because he humbleth himself before me, I will not bring the evil in his days…” God resists a man or woman driven by pride- (James 4:6-7). Humility, like pride, from the above scriptural foundation, is discernable. God said of Ahab, “See how he humbled himself before Me…” No one is called humble or proud by assumption. You’re judged proud or humble on the basis of your responses and actions to situations, circumstances, position, etc. Ahab changed: his attitude, his actions, and his response to God’s Word. Scriptures says in 1Kings 21:27, “And it came to pass, when Ahab heard those words, that he rent his clothes, and put sackcloth upon his flesh, and fasted, and lay in sackcloth, and went softly.” wow… He went “softly!” What a way to go. How do you respond to God’s Word when it comes? God held back disaster because Ahab changed. It’s up to you! Prayer Father, break every nature of pride in my heart and character. I receive your Word with meekness and promise to honour you in my every word and deed today and always. In Jesus precious name!
