CALLED TO PRAY

,

In the midst of life’s toughest challenges (economic, relationships, health, etcetera) God wants those called by His name to PRAY. In continuation of our daily encounter, God’s Word for today is taken from 2Chronicles 7:14.

It says:

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray… ”

Pray, not murmur. Pray, not complain, or get unnecessarily bitter because of what life has thrown at you. Don’t ask, “Why me?” Instead say, “If not me, who else?” Truth is, sometimes, life is unfair, very unfair. There are, absolutely, no logical explanations why certain bitter and painful experiences have to come the path of some of us. Yet, they do! Is God the author of sorrow, misery, disaster, etc? God forbid! If He is responsible, that will be highly inconsistent with His nature of goodness – (Psalm 73:1). This is why we are called upon to PRAY!

Part of the lyrics of that popular Gospel Hymn, “What A Friend We Have In Jesus” captures it beautifully well:

“What a Privilege to carry everything to God in PRAYER.”

Carrying our situations from the heart to the Lord is a privilege for everyone called by God’s name. This is us! “Carrying our situations to God in prayer is also a duty. Don’t renege at it or get weary. As long as there is a God in heaven who hears, men on earth must not be tired of crying out to Him day and night!

When you pray, it shows absolute dependency on God; not on you or others.

“…for without Me ye can do nothing.” John 15:5

“…and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts.” Malachi 3:1

Get ready for supernatural answers to your prayers!

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I depend wholly on you; not on another. Level every mountain of impossibility in my life; and turn my Marah into sweetness. In the mighty name of Jesus!
